Archer’s tomb

At the time of the discovery the tomb had already been plundered by unknown, but something had escaped the looting: some precious vases and 0bjects infact, were left there.
Among the precious objects were found: a plaque in ivory with animal decorations, a fibula in gold from the forms of a leech, a fragment of fibula in silver and some fragments of amber. All these fragments served to be able to date with a certain precision the tomb that should go back to the third quarter of the seventh century B.C.
The discovery occurred randomly in April 1978 during some agricultural works. The works of restructuration  were suspended and after an inspection by the archaeological Superintendence of Florence, that decided to opene a shipyard under the direction of Dr. Giuliano de Marinis.
