Vignano

The earliest official records of the Fanucci family date back to 1362 where the origins of the family commence in Pontaserchio, a small town nestled between the two major Tuscan towns of Lucca and Pisa. The modern Fanucci era begins with Grandfather Fanucci falling out with his siblings. Charged with putting electricity on the Indian Ocean Island Grandfather Fanucci got married. His son, Jean Jacque Fanucci, completed his studies as a Doctor in Paris and then he moved back to Mauritius, he got married with “mum” Fanucci. They had four sons. Michele, Patrick, Dominique and Nicolas. Mauritius had become an onerous place to live in during the late 1960’s. So once again the Fanucci family upped sticks and moved to South Africa.

This is where the boys received their formal schooling. Patrick went on to qualify as an industrial chemist,Dominique as an Airline pilot and Nicolas as a lawyer. Patrick, after an initial period of work in South Africa went back to Mauritius where he transitioned to the world of business and commerce. After his studies in Australia Dominique went on to live and work in Mauritius where he plied his trade until moving to Dubai. Nicolas made his way to Canada to further his studies in law. After a brief period in South Africa he moved to London, United Kingdom, where he started down the road of banking. He then left London for the more humid life of Singapore.

When Oldman Fanucci passed away, the boys decides to honore the father’s dream, go back to Italy.
